The relationship between metals on the Galvanic Scale is a useful guide for selecting metals that will be joined to minimize a ‘galvanic interaction’. Generally, materials that are farther apart on the Galvanic Scale have a higher risk of galvanic corrosion. Using this information and incorporating into the design can reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion. The further apart one metal is from another metal on the scale, the greater the corrosion will be. Conditions can also play a role in accelerating corrosion. Generally, water, and especially salt water, serve as the conductive path between two metals. It is critical to keep dissimilar metals separated in wet conditions.

Care & Handling
ACM products should be stored inside and kept dry until delivery to a jobsite. Products delivered to the jobsite should be properly covered up and used immediately to avoid deterioration of finish caused by wet stacking. For further information on Care & Handling of ACM products, please refer to the ACM / Norandex Warranties.
